cat damages hotel room, he's gotta pay for it. if the cat damages the hotel room and he DIDN'T admonish the cat and put it in the carrier... he wasn't in the room TO admonish the cat and put it in the carrier. ;) if the cat gets noisy wandering around the room in those 2 hours, the editor gets suspicious. if the guy puts the cat in the carrier and cat gets grumpy and noisy the editor gets suspicious.

the smartest choice? take the cat to the vet and bring some food along. put the cat in the vet's care for a few days till everything is over with. it'll cost him money, but he won't have to worry about the cat ruining his alibi.
